Menyh\u00e9rt Kr\u00f3zser took first place in practice at the Champions of the Future, a preparatory event for the FIA World Championship in Portimao. He faced tire pressure issues during qualifying, but his pace was still very promising.<\/b><\/p>\n

The KZ2 FIA Karting World Championship is being held this year in southern Portugal, preceded, as usual, by a warm-up event\u2014the Champions of the Future\u2014two weeks earlier on the same track.<\/p>\n

The week started well for MHH Racing Team\u2019s driver, as he won the first official practice session in his group and finished second in the second session.<\/p>\n

Rain fell before qualifying. Since there had been no practice on a wet track, teams could only make educated guesses with the settings. TB Racing therefore sent its three drivers out on the track with three different tyre pressures. Menya’s worked the least, so he was unable to repeat his dry speed and finished 25th in his group.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the heats, he once again showed his pace, consistently improving by 6\u20139 positions, except in the last heat, where he was involved in an accident and had to retire. In the Super Heat, he gained another 7 places. Despite his one retirement, he still improved by 17 places compared to qualifying.<\/p>\n

“The week started well with the free practice sessions; I felt very confident,” said Menyh\u00e9rt Kr\u00f3zser. “In qualifying, I was given the lowest tire pressure within the team, which didn\u2019t work out\u2014it made my kart very slow.<\/p>\n

In the heats I had to fight my way up from almost the back of the field. I did some good races with a lot of overtaking. In race situations, I am getting more aggressive.<\/p>\n

Overall, I\u2019ve improved again, and now we know which tire pressure to use in the rain in Portimao, so I\u2019m optimistic ahead of the World Championship.\u201c<\/p>\n
