The KZ2 FIA World Championship put Menyh\u00e9rt Kr\u00f3zser to the test. The rain tires he received for the race were from a bad batch, giving him no chance at a good result. In the Super Heat, he was hit by another driver, prompting a red flag. Menya\u2019s damaged kart could only be replaced with a rain-tuned spare, that was extremely difficult to handle on a dry track. Despite this, he overcame each obstacle and made the most of the weekend.<\/b><\/p>\n

The MHH Racing Team arrived at this year\u2019s KZ2 FIA World Championship with high expectations, as just two weeks earlier at the Champions of the Future event in Portimao, Menyh\u00e9rt Kr\u00f3zser had demonstrated his speed with a first and a second place in practice sessions.<\/p>\n

This time, the practice sessions also went well, including both dry and wet conditions. Rain returned for qualifying, but the performance of the rain tires varied significantly between batches. Menya got the less effective rain tires, which ultimately sealed his fate.<\/p>\n

He finished 13th in his qualifying group, starting him mid-pack \u2013 the \u201ccrush zone\u201d\u2013 for the heats. In three out of five heats, crashes occurred right in front of him, limiting his ability to gain positions.<\/p>\n

In the Super Heat, he would have needed a minor miracle to make it into the final, but he didn\u2019t give up and gave it his all. He was moving up well when another driver turned into his kart during an overtaking maneuver.<\/p>\n

The race was red-flagged due to the collision. Unable to continue with his damaged kart, they quickly mounted dry tires on his spare chassis, which was set up for rain, and he finished the Super Heat with this setup.<\/p>\n

Driving on a dry track with rain settings is extremely challenging, but Menya still managed to do some overtaking.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn terms of results, I expected better, but I can still say I gave it my all,\u201d said Menyh\u00e9rt Kr\u00f3zser. \u201cWith those rain tires, it was impossible to achieve a faster time. In the heats, whenever there wasn\u2019t a crash in front of me, I overtook.<\/p>\n

I made the most progress in the Super Heat, but then one of my opponents turned into me. My chassis bent so badly that I couldn\u2019t continue with it. By the time of the restart, we only had enough time to put dry tires on the kart set up for wet conditions, and I continued the race with that. I did everything I could, even in this situation.<\/p>\n

I wanted a good result at the World Championship, but that\u2019s how karting is\u2014luck also plays a part. However, there\u2019s always something to learn. I switched to KZ2 last year, and I\u2019ve improved immensely, both in speed and handling race situations.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t yet know how my season will continue, but my goal remains to win a prestigious international KZ2 race.\u201d<\/p>\n
