Menyhért Krózser in the Leading Pack of the FIA European Championship

Menyhért Krózser competed in the front of the field throughout the second round of the FIA Karting European Championship in the KZ2 category, held in Val Vibrata, Italy. Despite a hospital visit on Friday due to a virus and being involved in two collisions in the final, nothing could stop Menya, who finished 13th in a field of 82 drivers.

This year, the KZ2 European Championship, the top-tier series of karting, consisted of only two rounds, making every race weekend crucial. In this field, unlike in the junior categories, it’s not uncommon for drivers to have four, five, or even ten years of experience. However, Menyhért Krózser has already fought his way into the top ranks in just his second season.

Krózser performed particularly well in Val Vibrata. In his qualifying group, he secured 5th place, and in the heats, he consistently finished between 5th and 7th.

He started in the final in 13th place, and it turned out to be quite an adventurous race. His row got stuck at the start, and later he was involved in two collisions. He even had to swerve onto the grass to avoid a spinning competitor in front of him, yet he still managed to finish 13th.

“I had a really good weekend, aside from catching a virus,” said Menyhért Krózser. “I was even in the hospital before qualifying, where I got medication, but I think what helped me the most was getting back in the kart.

Qualifying was tight: in my two fast laps, I overtook other drivers, and my third lap was the only clean one, which allowed me to push and secure 5th in my group. I raced consistently throughout the heats as well. The KZ2 front pack is really tough, and overtaking in Val Vibrata is quite difficult.

The final was really eventful. My row got stuck at the start, and I lost several positions there. Later, I got caught up in two crashes in front of me. I could only avoid one by going onto the grass; it’s a miracle I even finished the race.

My pace was good, I had great synergy with the TB Racing Team, and I’m satisfied with the result. I’m confident we’ll keep getting better, especially with a preparation race and then the most important event of the year, the World Championship, coming up.”
