In two weeks, one of the most prestigious kart racing series, the FIA European Championship, will commence. Menyhért Krózser participated in a test race in the Italian Championship ahead of the first European race, showcasing his excellent problem-solving skills and speed.
The KZ2 FIA Karting European Championship will kick off on the first weekend of July. This year’s series consists of two races: the first in Aragon, Spain, and the second on the first weekend of September in Val Vibrata, Italy.
Two weeks before the first European race, Menyhért Krózser took part in the ACI Italian Championship. The MHH Racing Team used this race as both a warm-up and an opportunity to test on the Italian track for the second European race this year.
As this was a test race, the Italian team providing technical support experimented with a different chassis. They made several adjustments up until qualifying, but eventually realised that the chassis did not suit the Hungarian driver. After switching it out, Menyhért began to excel. In his first heat, for instance, he improved by seven positions.

In his third heat, the kingpin on the front axle broke, forcing him to retire from the race.
This setback cost him three points, preventing him from reaching the final, but he gained valuable experience on the track. They now know which chassis suits him best and have confirmed that he is in top form.
“Val Vibrata is a tough track with many hairpin turns and few overtaking points,” said Menyhért Krózser. “I raced here in Mini60, but it has completely changed since then, so this test race was necessary. Now I know its layout and tricks. There won’t be any issues at the European race in September.

During the practices, we tried a different chassis on the team’s recommendation. Unfortunately, no matter how much we refined it, it didn’t work for me. I only qualified 35th. We changed the chassis for the first heat, and I was flying. That was the highlight of the weekend. I overtook many and really enjoyed it.
In the third heat, the left front kingpin of my kart broke, forcing me to retire.
Overall, it was a good preparation race. In the heat without any setbacks, I raced in good form. Now we know which chassis to use for the European Championship, so I think we achieved what we came for. In two weeks, I aim to fight for European points in Aragon.”
