Menyhért Krózser continued his preparations for the 2023 season. After the winter break, he took part in a test in January and in February the MHH Kart Team scheduled a preparation race for him. The HUMDA Academy driver was in the line-up for the CEE Bonus Cup, where he set two fastest laps.

The MHH Kart Team has put together a serious programme for their 15-year-old driver, Menyhért Krózser. After a leg operation in December, they were only testing in January in Jesolo, Italy. The next step was a preparation race. This time they stuck with the Rotax Max Senior category and opted for the season-opening Bonus Cup of the Central European Rotax Max Challenge (CEE).
Menya came to the competition in very good form. He set the fastest lap in qualifying, but a protest was lodged against him for having not only the Rotax but also the MHH Kart Team sticker on his kart’s radiator. He was therefore disqualified from the qualifying session and started the semi-final from 34th place. Within a few laps he had climbed up to 12th place and set the fastest lap of the race, but was pushed off the track by an opponent.
As Menya would have again started from last place in the final, the team decided not to start. The reason they came was because they had the preparation and didn’t want to risk another injury from a push.
“After the test, I started in the CEE for the first time this year,” said Menyhért Krózser, “The team insisted on gradualism, so we chose a Rotax Max instead of an OK race.
I could already see in practice that I had the pace and in qualifying I set the fastest lap. I’d rather not comment on the penalty. In the semi-final I started from 34th place, improved 22 positions and was already in 12th place when a rider behind me was pushed out in a way that I didn’t understand.
Since I was eliminated in the semi-final, I should have started from last place in the final, but we didn’t see the point in going through the grinder again, so I dropped out of the race.
In the end, I got what I came for, I gained useful kilometres and I was able to practice the race situations. On to the next challenge.”
