At the Central European Zone Cup (CEZ) race in Jesolo, 2023, Menyhért Krózser gained his race kilometres in the Rotax Max Senior category. It was the second race of the year for the HUMDA Academy athlete, but like at the CEE, the focus was on preparation and not on results.
Central European Zone Cup (CEZ) Jesolo (Italy) 8-10 March 2023, Rotax Max Senior category
For the third time this year, Menyhért Krózser visited the karting track in Jesolo, Italy. In January he had his first test here, and in February he took part in a very fiery Central European Rotax Max Challenge (CEE) race as a preparation. This time the plan was similar, to gain racing experience in the FIA Central European Zone Cup.
This time the field was not short of firepower and the race was not short of collisions. After a minor mix-up Menyhért Krózser was unable to take part in the qualification, and started from last place again. From there he fought his way up to third, but after the many collisions caused his frame to deform, he retired prematurely.
“It seems that if I start with Rotax Max, something happens in qualifying,” said Menyhért Krózser, “There was a mix-up at the drivers’ briefing and they set a very tight interval until we could go out on track. When I wanted to go out, I was told that I could not.
So I started from last place again. From there, I managed to come up to third, which could have been even better, but I was hit by so many karts during the weekend that my frame deformed. Since it couldn’t be replaced, we saw no point in continue.
The positive of the weekend was that I had the pace from the first meters. I’ve done two races since the winter break, both of which I’ve gained some useful race kilometres and I’m ready in every respect. I’m ready for the OK category.”
